Welcome to the Blog

Hey there 👋 My name is Emily (aka @edirenzo). I’m a photographer based in Toronto – I also design and make videos. I do a lot of things, but this blog is going to focus on photography, and a little bit of video too. I wanted to quickly tell you why I’m doing this and what to expect.

Why I started this

1. To help you grow

Like everyone, I’m still learning every day, but I think I’m in a place now where I can help you start if you’re a beginner, or if you’re a bit more experienced – teach you a couple things you probably didn’t know.

The last thing I want to do is create more noise in an already very noisy space. So I’m going to make sure every post is worth your read – keeping it to the point, and providing you with tips, tricks, and discussions tailor-made for photographers and creators that' you’ll be hard pressed to find elsewhere.

2. To be in more than one place

As much as I love the ‘gram, I don’t want to be an Instagrammer, I want to be a creative thought leader. it’s time to broaden my horizons and bring more to the table than a weekly banger.

3. Because blogs are dynamic

I want to go a step further and expand on the type of content I put out. This allows me to share my knowledge with the creative community beyond a quick IG story tutorial, or leaning over a friend’s laptop to show them a Lightroom feature they didn’t know about – through words, images, videos, and links. This will be a hub for the modern photographer and creator. Speaking of which…

Here’s what to expect

The main topics I’ll be covering:

  • Shooting: Getting you better behind the lens.

  • Editing: Taking your shots to the next level with Lightroom and Photoshop.

  • Gear: Covering what gear and tools are right for different scenarios you’ll encounter.

  • Travel: Tips and guides specifically for creatives. Photo spots in global cities, the best essentials, how to travel smart and maximize your time, and even the coolest editing spots.

  • Business and Freelancing: We’re creatives first, but to make your passion your paycheck, you need to know business basics. I’ll cover everything from reaching out to your favourite brands, to how to invoice quickly and painlessly. Learn how to work smarter so you can spend more time creating.

That’s it! I’m excited. I hope you are too. Stay tuned.

Emily
